I recently was reintroduced to Runtime Revolution at MacWorld, and a little twinge of nostalgia from my Voyager days hit me. I had this feeling of comfort, of knowing where I belonged for a while, and decided to look into this product again.
So I joined their development mailing list and introduced myself with some of my history. I was blessed with several responses, one of which I will quote:
Steven W. Riggins wrote: > I am not a revolution user yet, but I plan to change that soon. And if I recall correctly from the ol’ LA Mac User Group meetings, you even have the propeller beanie to prove it. 🙂 For those of you who don’t know Steve, he was writing killer externals back when I was just cutting my teeth on HyperCard in the ’80s. It’s great to see you on this list, Steve. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with Revolution….
Wow, that was really nice! I hope this leads somewhere. I need work, I want it to be interesting and something I can be passionate about once again.
We’ll see!
Steve
I can’t WAIT to see what you do with Revolution. It’s pretty amazing. I messed around a bit with some of the Expanded Books–some of the XCMDS need to be rewritten, but a lot of the externals and C strings wouldn’t be needed, because of the various Revolution window types.
I still miss your FMP email archive . . . and I won’t mention some of your other movie related hacks
