So I sold my G5 on ebay and during shipping, one of the drives slid out and broke the pins/cable. I called the Apple store and it was around $140 for the cable and labor.
The purchaser lives in NJ so he took it to the store there. I called them today to find out whats what, and they said well, the drive connector broke around the cable, so the cable is fine. Maximum $70 fee. Then they called me back and said that they are not set up to have a remote person pay for repairs, and since all they did was test both cables, they’d waive any repair fees.
Awesome!
So how does the repair get fixed?
No repair needed, just pulled the bit off the connector
