For the new digs, we retired our 16 year old Kenmore washing machine, which was a true stalwart with only one repair needed, but the writing was on the wall for the top loading machine.
We picked up a LG front loading machine which uses one third of the water of a top loader and gets the clothes much dryer due to the faster spin cycles. Thus, you save a lot of energy because the dryer can run a shorter cycle.
On top of that, this machine won’t shred the clothes like an agitator will, has a steaming cycle to steam out smells from dry cleaning-only clothing, or pre-steam clothes so they iron much better.
The Allergiene system works by heating the steamed water to 131F, which is enough to kill dust mites. We’ll use this cycle on the bedding.
