Apple has released OS X 10.6.3. You can find it in Software Update.
I’ve been beta testing this release since January, using it daily. As with all releases, many things are fixed and you might run into some gotchas.
I highly suggest this release if you play games such as World of Warcraft or Second Life. The video drivers for at least my MacBook Pro (late 2008) are substantially improved.
There are many other small tweaks and fixes as well.
If you do happen to run into problems, the usual solutions apply:
- Repair Disk Permissions with Disk Utility
- Try creating a brand new user, logging into that user and trying what is failing with that user. If your system works fine with that user, then you likely have some bad data in your user.
- Throw away your user Cache found in your User’s Library folder and reboot
I wish these fixes were not necessary, but OS X isn’t perfect.
Happy computing and be sure to let us know if you have any issues, or even better, if things work properly!
