I was a beta site for Star Wars Galaxies, an online role playing game. It is coming out soon and the NDA has been lifted, so I’ve posted some of my screenshots: Star Wars Galaxies Photo Album

You’ve all seen the leaked specs. You can already buy a t-shirt lol
The Night Sky
The night sky, above and by, called to me by name. It whispered my future, one moment at a time, chilling yet thrilling, what was to come. My heart leapt high, into the sky, and mingled with the stars. Then fell down to earth and reminded me, how fragile we all are.
Security Update got your network down?
I installed the latest OS X Security Update for 10.2.6, and Airport 3.1 and rebooted. Networking was dead. The System Pref panels were dead. After dorking around for awhile, Curt suggested I delete: /private/var/db/SystemConfiguration/preferences.xml I did, and also /private/var/db/SystemConfiguration/com/apple.airport.preferences.xml Rebooted. All of my networking prefs were gone (yay) so I reset them to DHCP and… Continue reading Security Update got your network down?
Things I love (or really, really like)
(INPO) * Mad Monster Party (Rankin/Bass 1966 puppet masterpiece, got it on DVD!!!) * The Princess Bride (All time fav) * The Red Violin (wonderful story) * Waking up to sunshine * Walks in the forest on a cool evening * Trying out a new piece of software that “gets it right” * Playing with… Continue reading Things I love (or really, really like)
Scummy, Crappy Organization
Oh! I was talking about SCO! Now they have revoked IBM’s AIX license. Talk about a bunch of people making money for nothing they did themselves. I guess they went to the Microsoft School of Business. If I ever have the chance to turn down working with these guys, I will!
An Evening with Kevin Smith
For those Kevin Smith fans, this two disc DVD set is a must have. It is absolutely hilarious! Kevin answers questions and tells stories from his different university appearances. Jason Mewes makes appearances, too!
Tualatin Hills Nature Park
I took a short 1 mile hike through the Tualatin Hills Nature Park. What a lovely little park! It is right around the corner from me, and while I have seen it on the GPS, I never did see a way in. I would have hiked more, but even the Claritin is not helping much… Continue reading Tualatin Hills Nature Park
A note to the Safari team
IE is gone. Yay! What cracks me up is their whining about Safari having insider info. Yeah, that is why Camino’s java support is better than Safari at the moment? MS never ceases to amaze me in their gall, attitude and just utter brashness. I hope this affords the Safari and Camino teams the energy… Continue reading A note to the Safari team
Portland Night
Portland night, glistening under the clouds, beauty reigns down, peeks through it’s cool shelter. Moon bright and full, hanging alone in the sky, I know how it feels. Scent of some flower, twitching at my senses, someday, someone to share with. Calm, serene and peaceful, oh such a Portland night.
So long, IE!
See you on the Safari! MS drops Mac IE development. Not like there had been any lately. And this a day after I sign off the Mac-IE-Talk mailing list. Am I good or what?? MS will now use the Windows only browser to force crappy non-standard codes to us.. Great. Where is the DOJ when… Continue reading So long, IE!
The news as it happens today
Gregory Peck, one of our legendary actors has left us today. And, David Brinkley, who would have covered it so succinctly, has left us as well.
Braces Update!
Yesterday I had a procedure called “IPR” done (Interproximal Reduction) in which they sand off a little of the sides of the teeth (lower front) to make room so they can be moved. It is the best way to correct my bite (vs. yanking teeth or widening the top and filling the gaps with bond)… Continue reading Braces Update!
Ecola State Park
Part of my self improvement process is to get out more, so I hauled my butt 90 minutes west to Ecola State park. I took some pictures for all to enjoy!
Too hot here
97 outside, 93 inside. This rental has no insulation and no AC. Yuck. Crazy portland 🙂
Viva Las Vegas
I drove out to Las Vegas this weekend with Matt and we met his fiance and her family there. We saw George Carlin who was awesome as usual. Matt took a bunch of photos (the dates are wrong) and I posted them at: Vegas 2003 Photo Album
Calling all Windows users
I’ve decided to start a page on PC virus/firewall protection (for my PC friends who know nothing about these issues) Please make comments with web sites you like for virus scanning and applications you like for firewalls, virus removal and web bug scanning. And if the perfect, one stop shopping site already exists, comment with… Continue reading Calling all Windows users
Less Bitching, more moaning
Or something like that would make the place a better world. I am the classic bitcher, I won’t change because communication helps make us better people, but I will try to be more constructive. On a positive note, I had a realization today. People have been bitching about Apple doing this wrong, or doing that… Continue reading Less Bitching, more moaning
Transmit 2.5
Nice job, Panic. Transmit was getting some “stalled” errors to some sites last week, so I paid for Interarchy 6.2 and it was even slower. Now Panic has released Transmit 2.5 and they fixed things like dragging a large list of files (which used to stall the Finder for 20 seconds). I ran my upload… Continue reading Transmit 2.5
What a pile!
As my friend Simeon would say. So I download the new Adobe Acrobat Reader 6. I run the installer, and it asks where to save it, so I say Applications. Then I realize it is downloading the installer (I never pay attention, I am a Mac user!) So I cancel it and it asks what… Continue reading What a pile!
