Picked up iLife 08 today. While it is installing, it asked me to register. Ok, so it takes me to an apple web page, but oops, no product listing yet! It’s not like they knew this was coming….

I can now store my music and photos internally, and update to a larger/faster drive later. LCD backlit screen – uses less power,… Continue reading MacBook Pro is on its way!
Apple embeds user data in iTunes Plus songs – So What?
You’d think we had started a war. Cory Doctorow, who I respect for his EFF work, has gone off the deep end calling iTunes 7.2 a “downgrade”. CNET quotes: Songs available on iTunes Plus reveal users’ personal information. Privacy group suspects Apple goofed. First off, did anyone think Apple was going to just sell plain… Continue reading Apple embeds user data in iTunes Plus songs – So What?
iTunes ate 3 songs
Update 2 Ok I’ve fixed my library. Here is the series of errors that happened: Some of my songs were 127kbps AAC files, not the files I paid for. According to this story over at Apple Insider, Apple will be splitting their Pro Care services into two $99 services, one for hardware support, one for training support. Seems like a good time for other dealers to jump in and take some of that business!
Apple Battery Update 1.2 for MacBook / MacBook Pro
Update 3 Apple said to track the status but the battery is not covered even under AppleCare, unless it has a major failure. I hope that doesn’t mean “it burned your house down.” Update 2 Now that I’ve been on battery for an hour, the full capacity reads 5054! I am taking it in to… Continue reading Apple Battery Update 1.2 for MacBook / MacBook Pro

Over at the get a mac page is a wonderful new “Security” ad discussing Vista’s over zealous firewall. On the same page is this text: No upgrade nightmares. Before you can even think about Vista, you’ll likely need a new PC. Or upgrades for memory, hard disk, and graphics card. Why go through all that… Continue reading Calling Apple to task
