I’m not very happy with the new Apple ads. Sure, I am the biggest Mac biggot of them all, but like the switcher ads which didn’t work to much success, I don’t think that belittling others is a way to endear them. Ok, the Mac is better at viruses and networking and such, but it… Continue reading Time for a new line of Macintosh ads

iTunes South Park Bait and Switch
Wow Apple just pulled a bait and switch. When I ordered South Park Season 10, it said it included all episodes of Season 10. Now there is an asterik, that says Season 10b starts later in the year and is not included. Time to complain.

According to Daily Tech, Apple has now released 3 revisions of the MacBook Pro hardware. The latter having no known issues. Did I finally get iChat 3 A/V Working?
Thanks to info at Ralph John’s iChat Page, I finally got iChat AV working, we think. It still depends on the remote end being configured properly, so if you have problems, see the linked image. Basically I turned off uPNP and used port triggering instead. I have a Linksys WRT54GS v1.1 with Firmware Version: v3.37.6… Continue reading Did I finally get iChat 3 A/V Working?

Apple adds more shows to iTunes Music Store
Ok so I find it cool I can download an adam-12 or Hitchcock presents now. However, Apple needs to make these downloadables cheaper somehow. An entire season 1 of Adam-12 is $37 from Apple, and the DVD version from Amazon is $32. Or used for $25. You can’t buy used downloads 🙂 I suppose I’ll… Continue reading Apple adds more shows to iTunes Music Store
First three way iChat AV conference
Well it took until now to successfully get a three way video chat going, between my friend Totte in Sweden and my mother. Of course my mom didn’t like popping into a 3 way chat at 6:30am with a stranger. ROFL. Interesting UI implications. Update: After reinstalling Tiger (due to disk issues) I can no… Continue reading First three way iChat AV conference

Apple yesterday announced: Apple Computer Inc. has named Tim Cook, the company’s executive vice president of worldwide sales and operations since 2002, as chief operating officer, while Jon Rubinstein, head of the iPod division, will soon retire, the company said Friday. Now hmm, Jon Rubinstein is stepping down. This made me curious, because on the… Continue reading Its not good to be an Al Roker if you are an Apple Executive

Using an Airport Express as a wireless extension to Linksys WRT network with WPA2
Whew! What a mouthful. Alright I had already posted on how to get the Express talking to Sveasoft’s firmware using WDS and WEP. This allows the Express to connect wirelessly to the Linksys and let me play my music, etc. Since then I had upgraded my WRT to the Linksys 4.70.6 firmware which supports WPA2… Continue reading Using an Airport Express as a wireless extension to Linksys WRT network with WPA2
